I recently started in this job and one of the things I've been tasked with is to get SugarCRM (community edition) up and running. So far it's just being used as a basic contact database, but we need to get some other functions up and running. I know absolutely nothing about CRM's, and maybe this is something simple I'm missing
Basically, when I enter a new contact and assign it to one of our staff, I would like them to get some sort of alert so they know to follow up. Right now it shows up in the dashlet on their home page, but there's no kind of system to prompt them into action.
Also, I would like the staff member to receive reminders to call leads or other tasks.
Is this possible in the CE version? Do I need a workflow type plug-in? And, if so, is there a really simple one - the couple I've found sound hard to implement and I don't know what I'm doing here
Any guidance very much appreciated!
