workflow : sending email to conact - incase task is due date

We need to implement workflow as follows:

We are creating a task to connected to contact.

We want that contact to be updated by email when the task is completed or the due date is PAST.

Is that possible in the PRO version thru workflow - OR IT WILL REQUIRE SPECIAL CODING.

Any help is appreciated - We know little bit editing of the code - so if that is required we can do that also
