Hello Forum,
I'm new to Sugar. I started in on trying to customize v 5.2 to do a series of tasks that i'm about to list, and i'm just not 100% on which "modules" i should use for what. Being as this is the best place for developers, I thought i'd ask for some guidance.
So here goes, the process, what i've used / think i can use - any and all input would be fantastic.
Mind you the vocabulary isn't always in snyc with what sugar uses, i'll try to quote actual terms.
Basically I'm creating 2 email campaigns, which would be manually selected by an admin via a search.
I've had some minor sucess creating a campaign and actually getting it to send emails.
Both campaigns send an email, that i'd like to add a link to, (this is all external php files now) this link would pass variables to a file, at which point they click a link on the file (containing the emails from the variables via a GET) when clicked that link would actually confirm a pre defined meeting.
Throughout this I will need to generate reports on which user's account's contacts accepted, maybee, and denied. Same query, run multiple times.
The campaign period ends, all contacts have responded one way or another.
At this point all the contacts that denied the meeting's status will be changed so that they can be part of another group.
The meeting would happen in real life.
After the meeting there will be a few tiers
did they purchase, pending, or not
if they purchased which package and how much
I'll need reports for who purchased, closing ratios, dollar amounts, which will be both per user and per all users.
Summarized even more:
"users" create "accounts" then add "contacts" which split to be sent to one of two "target lists", which then send out an "email campaign" with customized links that "GET" variables to a php file. The "contacts" click a link which goes to sugar and sets the status of the "meeting" which was previously created.
Reports
"accounts" are updated to reflect our sales packages and dollar amounts
Reports - to sort out who can afford what
"accounts" is again updated after all presentations take place to signify closed accounts, pending closures, denials.
Reports from inception to expulsion.
If this doesn't make sense, I completley agree. This is the task i've been apointed.
I know nothing about reports, i'm currently fighting with email campaigns target lists and actually sending scheduled emails. Meeting invites v email campaigns? so many facets to sugar finding the correct starting point seems an impossible task.
This is only an overview, it's much more complicated, but i'm only concerned with creating a linear working process. Once that's complete then i'll go back and add clauses.
Feel free to respond with a bid, unless that breaks some forum rules, in which case please don't just throw some suggestions at me.
Thanks Forum!
