Would it not be cool if I could create different task views for different case status.

if case status = new then new task with fields for new case task.
if case status = obtain info then tasks shows fields for obtain info task.

if someone knows how to do this in sugar 4.5.1 id appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction.

It is a pain to implement such feature in 4.5.1. You need to setup two different DetailView.tpl and two differents EditView.tpl, one for each status, and decide which one to load in *.php script.

Any good reason to don't upgrade it?

We are still using info @ hand wich is based on sugar v4.5.1
