Zuckerreports: can't create jasper report

Sugar Version 6.1.4 (Build 5822) Community Edition
Ubuntu
PHP 5.2
mysql 5.1.41
Apache 2.2.14 (Ubuntu)
ZuckerReports 1.13
JasperReports 3.7.0

If I go to zuckerreports tab > report and query templates, there will be a few buttons, including one for a jasperreports template. I hit that, and save some basic information, but no templates are listed after saving. There are no errors in the sugar log, either. Am I supposed to have a .jrxml report ready before I can even make one of these templates?

But there are none when I save a template or view the template list.

The version I'm using of zucker is the newest--tried an older one in the hopes it would fix these issues, but sugar said it was too old for version 6.1.2.

Furthermore, I'm given 'no access' if I try to go to (in history) any of the templates I just created...


EDIT: solved this (mostly) by reinstalling the zucker module, copying in newer jasper jars and installing the demo packs.
