Default Bulk emails flagged as "SPAM" on the recipient side

    Hello all,

We are new to SugarCRM. We have been playing around with SugarCRM to send "bulk e-mailers" to a targeted group of contacts/accounts. We created a new campaign and created a target list and pulled in a group of contacts/accounts to this list. Whenever we send email to this targeted list, the email on the recipient side is flagged as "SPAM". Is there a way to ensure that does not happen. We used our GMail accounts on the recipient side for testing purposes. However, when we send ONE email at a time from the e-mail option / interface, the email is NOT flagged as "SPAM" on the recipient side.

On the recipient side we are seeing a message such as "The attached message from John Smith <xyz@abc.com>
was determined by the Spam Blocker to be spam based on a score of 3.7 where anything above 3.3 is spam." added to the received email body.

Is there a way from SugarCRM side to ensure such a thing does not happen on the recipient side?

    Please help!

    Regards,
    iTech2008

    Hello iTech2008,

this really depends on many factors. Some email clients are ore sensitive than others when determining which emails are spam. There is not much you can do about this.

However, there are a few things you can do on your end to help lower the chance of your email being logged as spam. I am not sure what you are sending in your email, but there are keywords, key phrases, formats, and characters in both the Subject line and email body that are common spam items. When all grouped together within the same email, your email can be labeled as spam. You can search the internet for these items and compare against what you are sending.

Another thing to look at is the outbound email settings of your system. We provide and outbound email smtp for the purposes of sending out email campaigns, so that the smtp for the campaigns is not the same as that of your company smtp (so that your company smtp cannot be blacklisted and labeled as spam).

All these factors come into play, so the first thing i would look at is the content of your email and see if that makes a difference

    Sugarcane,

We appreciate your quick reply. We are sending some sales e-mails to various targeted audience. The # of e-mails that go out are in just 100s to highly targeted audience. We have been using other email clients such as Outlook before and have not had this problem. We are aware (and have used) of some tools that will show us the "spam score" on the e-mail content that we have. The spam score is very low on our e-mails as they are vertical specific and for a highly targeted audience. We will come back again with any more questions or any tools / consulting that we may need from you.

Have a look at this post: http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showt...highlight=html
Might be another indicator why you experience this.
