    Default Campaign emails "broken" since upgrade to 4.5.1e

    Hi all

    Did anything major change in how campaigns work between 4.5.1c and 4.5.1e, because since we upgraded campaigns aren't working at all

    Regardless of "test" status, you click the Send button (having selected your target list(s)) it "chunters" for a bit (busy mouse pointer) but then zilch, it just drops straight back to the "Please select the campaign messages that you would like to send test:" page. No emails are queued at all, the campaign status page denies everything.

    We've even built a brand new campaign, using brand new target lists, and exactly the same. There's nothing untoward in the logs (even if I set them to DEBUG).

    I'm just going to restart the server (you never know...) but I'm wondering if we are the only people afflicted since the upgrade?

    Never let it be said I'm one to let the grass grow...

    As further diagnostic, I installed a clean copy of 4.5.1e on my PC to a brand new local database, imported a few contacts and built a brand new campaign, and I'm pleased to say it worked fine. So, it would appear that something has broken in our main, started at 4.2.1a, installation.

    So, next question (which shouldn't really go in this thread) must be: How can I do a brand new installation of SugOS but keep the old database "intact" as far as data we've entered goes? (I know, for instance, that I'll need to remove the "admin" user account if I'm going to point it at the same DB table)

    We have had this same problem. Unfortunately we cannot just can our database as there's a lot of valuable information there. Do you think your solution would work with just reinstalling Sugar and keeping the tables with contacts and such in them?

    I wouldn't try it (unless you *really* need campaigns working straight away, and even then take multiple backups) until we hear back from someone a lot further up the tree.

    I only know that it makes an admin account from previous playing. I'm not sure what else it does after that, since that's the point it failed during my play.

    yeah reinstalling seems a bit drastic, its better to find out whats not working and why, or else you might end up facing the same problem at a more critical junction

    Hmm... No "official" responses yet - time for some more observation from my own testing.

    On a test installation, I successfully did a clean install of 4.5.1e and then imported our corporate SQL db over the top, and apart from the obvious "all the add-ons are missing" it works well enough (campaigns worked immediately, for instance) that we're going to use this technique to "repair" our corporate SugOS installation.

    I feel it needs saying yet again that YMMY and take plenty of backups before attempting (heck, if you've a spare PC lying around run a test like we did and make sure your data is fine after...)

    We are having the same problem too... Just started trying to use campaigns.... so im very irritated it isnt working. I cant imaging your frustration if you were using it!!!!

    I hope these additional posts will get the problem addressed SOON!

    Workaround:
    Select campaign,
    select launch wizard in upper right side of campaign frame,
    at the bottom in "marketing email" select "send test" (campaign must be inactive) or "schedule email" (campaign must be active)

    Well, we bit the bullet and re-installed from scratch (importing our corporate SQL data back over the top of the clean DB afterwards), and as expected everything is now (mostly) fine... It's taken me a fortnight to re-apply most of our modifications (add-ons, custom fields and drop-down additions), but the users really didn't notice all that much interruption 'cause we disguised the change by migrating network domains at the same time
