Campaign Status

Hi,
Could someone explain the difference betwenn all the Status that we can choose when we create a Campaign?
As far as i understand the only important one is Active if you are doing a email nbased or newsletter camp in order to have your emails sent but what is th purpose of the other ones?

Am i right if i say that in campaigns all fields are info except Type/Status and End date ? I mean the other fields are not involved in any automatic action/calcul... ? Correct?,

It is correct other status is just for information about the campaign, same about several fields.
The Sugar code does not consider these fields for deciding how and when to send a campaign or something like that.
