Me and the guys are having a question about how to use the results of a successfully running email campaign.
We are emailing about 2,000 contacts that I imported into Sugar as Targets (import targets from the Campaigns shortcuts menu), and then added to a Target List. Now the emails are flowing out, and we are getting Views, Click-Thru’s, Bounces, etc, all very well.
But now the marketing guys are wondering what to do with all those Click-Thru “records” that are being created - some way to automate the follow-up process (they want to follow-up with each person that clicked-through in a special way). I think that they want to convert those Targets into Leads (or maybe Contacts?), but you can’t click on the name in the Campaign Status view to see the “Convert To Lead” button, so you’d have to go to the Target List, manually search for each Target, and then click on them there. And doing them one-by-one could really stink.
Did I make a mistake in importing the email addy list as Targets instead of Leads? Is there something automated for following up on the users that clicked-thru, or converting them to Leads?
(BTW – took me DAYS of messing around to get the schedulers, and then the Bounce Email Handling to work properly, even had to hack the PHP code a bit in 5.2.0i – good thing I’m a programmer).
