I am able to send out campaign emails. But when i open an email, the Viewed Messages counter doesnt seem to be working.
The Clicked Messages does get updated as well as the Sent Messages.
Any specific setup required to track the View Rate?

I'm having the same trouble....
I am having the same trouble, although I did just move my server over from opensuse 10.3 to ubuntu 8.04. I just noted that I didnt have file permissions with the right webserver account at the time i sent the campaign but fixed it right afterwards.
I can see sent and bounced msgs, but viewed msgs is blank (the item im most concerned about)
Im using sugar CE 5.0.0d (Build 3235)
about to upgrade to 5.0e now to see if it helps.
anybody have insights on this issue? I am a customer so will open a case and report results here if i dont get any help here first.

Hello,
The Viewed Message will not count unless the person receiving the message downloads pictures. If you open up the email, you will probably notice a message in your email stating something like 'Click here to download pictures'. This message will appear even if you did not add any images to you campaign email template. By default, the email template for a campaign contains a pixel which you cannot see. When the email recipient downloads images, it is this pixel that triggers that they viewed the message. If a recipient only reads an email they received, but does not download images, they will not be counted as having read the email.

thanks sugarcane, this is understood , however im not getting any views which i know is not the case, i usually have a certain number (usually roughly 30 views out of 100 sent show as views). having zero now tells me something is up, and not that everyone started blocking images all at once. ive got no support from sugar after 2 weeks. i suppose i better call once i get a chance and rattle some cages. i have been too busy to do my own followup
