    Default Keeping record under control

I'm looking to find out how other users of Sugar handle large marketing target lists vs. their existing customers.

We have 2,500 customers (in as accounts), and a further 11,000 marketing targets, (in as targets). I'm often asked to mail merge to "all our customers", or "all non customers" or both.

How do you maintain the targets list to make sure customers aren't also in targets? Is there a way? I understand that targets is a big bucket to throw data, but how can this be checked against accounts ensuring we're not loading in targets who are already customers?

I have a bad feeling you're all going to come back and tell me this isn't possible.

    But I'm an eternal optimist!

    Nathan

PS... I've thought about loading them ALL in as accounts, and using ACCOUNT TYPE to differentiate between customers and targets, but this then clogs many other lookup screens with non-customers.
