    Default lists of contacts ?

    hi,

I just did a tradeshow and have a lot of business cards I'd like to enter into sugar.

I'm not really sure how to do this - I know there is the email campaign module in which I can create a target list and add targets to it one by one, but that doesn't enter the business cards into the contacts.

In contacts, I don't see any way I can create a list of contacts that belong together (e.g. "Press contacts", "Suppliers", etc)

how is this done easily and how can I see only certain lists of contacts and use them easily in the campaign module at a later time?

    thanks,
    B.

    OK thanks

I noticed there is also an industry and type field in accounts

if I add my own types to the list, what will happen when I upgrade sugar? will I lose those types?

    another question :

how do I send emails only to certain account types in the campaign module?

i am not sure about the process leads -> campaign -> contacts...

for me it is strange that I have to start with a "lead" since I want to keep most of these people's contacts.

if I create a target list, and i want later on to keep the "category" or "type" of the contact in the database.. how do I do this?

this is how it works.. leads are early contacts.... this is for you to know that it is not yet a full customer.. its from target to lead to contact... leads are the one that have responded to your campaigns.. and when you have evaluated them or assesed you can turn them into contacts.. it is save in the database.. on the prospects table..
