    Default Phone Calls

I am going crazy trying to figure out how to do something that I would think is very simple, namely:

How do I log a phone call that I just made rather than scheduling a phone call that I plan to make in the future? I want to be able to pull up a contact and log the call immediately along with a note about the substance of the call.

    Thanks.

    jmbinnacle,

Hi, I'm no expert, but I would say that you use Schedule Call function just as you would to set up a call in the 'future', but set the time and date for the time date of the call you made ie Today and the time. Set status to Outbound, Held. Record the details of the call in the Description box and save. That's it.

Did you ever figure out how to do what you were trying to do here? I'm looking for the answer myself.

    Thanks.

Another option, though not totally what you asked for, it to add it as a note under history.

Could someone help me...when I set up a call and mark it as held, it still shows up in my activities list

    am I doing something wrong?

there are two options, save or close and create new, I am currently saving them as I find when I close and create I get a carbon copy of what I have just closed and have to delete the contents before proceeding again if I'm doing this wrong please advise

You're right. This should be so easy, but you do have to change the way you think about it. I spent hours trying to do this seemingly simple thing. Here's what I do now:
    1. Click Schedule Call
    2. Enter all pertinent details.
    3. Change call status to "outbound held"
    4. Click "Close and Create New"
    5. Click "Cancel" to erase the newly created duplicate.

That's the fastest way I've found to do it.
