second e-mail marketing on one campaign ?

hello all,

i tried to send a second e-mail marketing under an existing campaign. but it did not work.
i found similar posts in the forum but i found no correct explanation for this behavior.

step by step what i did:
1. create a campaign with type Email.
2. choose a targetlist
3. create a Email Marketing called "newsletter 1" with teamplate etc.
4. send the E-mails via Admin Panel
--this was working fine and i received the mail--
5. create a second Email Marketing called "newsletter 2" with different teamplate etc. (same targetlist)
6. send the E-mails via Admin panel ( the e-mails disappear also from the Queue )
----but i did not received this mail--

i work with open sugar 4.2.1.a on a shared server.

did i make something wrong ?

if it is true that this behavior is wanted, ( i had read this in some other posts )
i was wondering that i could create a second e-mail marketing under an existing campaign.

i want to realize a daily newsletter for some customers. it is very hard to create every day a whole new campaign where i have to change only some information at the mail template.

how can i handle this in the campaign module ?

sorry for my bad english but maybe someone understand my current problems and have some answers for me.

Hello Tony,

The reason you did not receive the second email is due to "Duplicate Handling."

Duplicate emails are disregarded if your target list type is default or seed. Therefore, if an email has already been sent to an email address under one campaign, the second time you send it, the system sees it as a duplicate.

It is true that you can send multiple emails under a single campaign but not to the same target list.

A workaround:
Duplicate your existing campaign, select the same target list and create an email marketing. This way you do not have to create your campaign from scratch.

thanks for your answer. that I already imagined .
i found the code for "duplicate Handling" in the EmailMan.php. maybe it would be a task for the future.
my idea is :

on the creation site for campaign: one checkbox "newsletter" .
if the chekbox is on --> jump over the whole duplicate handling and tracking and only show in campaign detail if sending
was successfully or not. then it is possible to send all e-mails again and i only have to change the template.

at the moment i work with a customized EmailMan.php on my testsystem which allows me to send campaigns again.
if i have time enough, i will put all my changes into a module.
