    Default Target converted to lead

    Hi !

Ok here I did a successful campaign and I have a couple of targets that I want to convert to leads.
I already did some test. (Version Sugar Pro 4.2.0d)

Right now, my targets are in a target list called "Manufacturers" as targets.

If I convert a target "houlejo" (me) member of the target list "Manufacturers" to a lead. I will now have a duplicate. One "houlejo" still a target in the target list "Manufacturers" and one duplication "houlejo" as a lead.

Now, for my next campaign that I will send to all my targets and leads, "Houlejo" will receive it twice ??? If not, which one will received it ? And at one point I may have 3 duplicates (one target, one lead, one contact).

Do I have to delete the target "houlejo" first because he is now a lead ? If yes, it means all these actions :
    1) Convert to lead
    2) Remove the target "houlejo" from target list.
    3) add the lead "houlejo" to target list.
    4) Delete the target "houlejo"

Same steps would be necessary to convert a lead to contact.

    Thanks for your cues...

    Hi Guys,

    I'm bumping this message.

It's been a couple of months and I didn't found any answers...

I'm using this workaround since... but I want to find a better way.

    Thanks,

I have the same question as above. Sometimes I add a target or lead to a list and then when we convert to a contact he may go on the list again.

Is there any solution to this yet?

When a lead is converted to a contact, there is a converted status that I can use to identify the converted leads. The target module does not have this status field. I can't tell which targets have been converted.

I am a SugarOnDemand user, so I don't have access to the source code, but there is obviously some variable linking the target to the lead because when you view details on the target, there is a box at the top that says it's been converted. But again, you have to click into the details of a target to see this status.

    Does anyone have any advice.

    Thank you.

    Hello Everyone,

It is strange that Targets do not have a status field, i never noticed that before. In the database, there is a lead_id field which, if populated, means that the target was converted into a Lead. However, you cannot view this in the search panel or pull it into a report.

However, if you have the targets and the leads within the same target list, and they are all being sent the same email marketing item, then they should only receive an email once, even though they are listed more than once (for 4.5 and 5.x -- not sure about 4.2)

The campaign module will suppress an email address if it it listed more than once so that a person only receives 1 email.

With Pro, you can create a report which displays all leads where the status is not equal to converted, so that you are not pulling these to begin with.
