    Default Customer Management

    Hi all,

I run an eco-tourism organization in India. We have a huge customer base of around 35000 people. I would like to know how I can use SugarCRM to track customers.

    My main requirements are thus:
    • My Customers have attended one or more events conducted by us in the past. We need to keep track of this.
    • The customer list has to be searchable in the sense, I would like to find out which customer has taken part in which event / activity conducted on which date.
    • I want to be able to send out newsletters / campaign e-mails to customers based on their association with us.

Is this possible??? I was told that SugarCRM would be capable of this activity. Kindly help me and guide me through this process.

Regards and thanks in advance for your help and support.

Sugar can do it but maybe you will need some module creation for tracking customers events attendement, or you may consider as an event attendment as some case...

SugarCRM Open Source can do much of the campaign management you are looking for.

SugarCRM Pro or Enterprise, along with the SugarPortal, can address your newsletter requirements very nicely.

Event Registration and Management as such has nothing available for it of which I am aware, other than the Marketing Events module in our Info At Hand product, which is a commercial superset of SugarCRM Open Source.

SugarCRM Open Source addresses some of the issues you are concerned with.

With SugarCRM Open Source you can capture all your customer information and store it one place. His contact details, address information etc. can be stored in SugarCRM Open Source.
This can be done using SugarCRM's Leads, Accounts and Contacts tabs.

You can use this customer base to market you events / activities by using the Campaigns tab. Campaigns in SugarCRM Open Source allows you to create email campaigns and monthly newsletters and send them at a pre set date and time.

Now coming to capture your business products i.e here your events / activities, mapping them to SugarCRM is not that straight forward. Typically SugarCRM provides opportunities which are the items/services you sell to your customers and link them directly to Customers in SugarCRM nomenclature it is Accounts / Contacts.

At this moment you can start looking at using the opportunity as a way of defining who participated in what ?

Or the best possible scenario is The Open Source forum has some products module or SugarCRM Pro has a products module which can be used to define your products. Now for every event / activity you need to define a product and associate the product to the people who have purchased.. You may have to think about this little but and you should be able to find a solution.

The other option, as suggested by others in the forum, create a seperate custom tab for your tours and associate them with opportunities and accounts.

    With Warm Regards
