Customizing Home tab

Hi guys,
I have a pair of questions regarding the Home tab.

1.I need to remove some modules from the Home tab that are not needed. Is it possible to remove some of the elements in the Home screen?

2. Is it possible to route the entering users to a specific tab?
Note: If I remove the access to the Home tab for a given user, whe he enters, always encounters the message: 'Warning: You do not have permission to access this module.'
I guess this warning happens because the system is trying to route the user to the home tab anyway, but finds that it has no access to it.

Changing the default module should be as easy as edinting your config.php and looking for the line that has 'default_module' => 'Home', on it and changeing Home to whatever module you want to be the default module.

removing items from the home module is easy as well, just edit index.php file in the /modules/Home directory.
