Default Different between Account and Contact

Contact is a person. Account is an organization.
An Account can have not any Contact or many Contact. A Contact may be not belong to any Account.
    Is that right ?

My company's customer may be personal customer (Contact not belong to any Account) or an organization customer (Account have many Contact).
    Why can't I create a Case for a Contact (personal customer) ?

    Please help me. Thanks.

Default Re: Different between Account and Contact

I'm not sure I follow, for example

    An account contains:
company name, location, contact information (name, phone, email) and items and activities related to the account

    A contact contains:
Contact information (name, phone, email), company name (Account), location and possibly, items and activities related to the contact

So by that, the contact is contained in the account. If I have account name information in contact, I can click and goto account page. If I have a contact name in ACcount, I can click and goto the contact page.

    Does this make sense?
