    Default One contact multiple customers

So far I have read that one contact being associated with multiple customers is possible but has some pitfalls, like duplicate entries of that customer in the DB. Is this still the case? Are the any "safe" work arounds? I don't want to be the source of a dirty DB especially since I'm not the Admin.

    Thanks,

Not exactly sure I understand which issue you are referring to. Can you first define what you mean by "customers?" i.e. Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, ???

None of the objects with Sugar are named 'customers' by default. I am assuming you are talking about the linking of Contacts to Accounts, but not sure.

When I add a contact, I associate him/her with a customer. The web version I'm using doesn't have a "accounts" link that I've seen yet, but I'm new.

Say John Smith works for XYZ Inc. and has his own Business on the side called JS Inc. I didn't see a way to have one contact be part of two customers.

OK, to clarify, what you are referring to as 'Customers' are 'Accounts' within the default lexicon of SugarCRM.

You can link a contact to multiple accounts by performing the following steps (assuming the contact has already been linked to one account):

    1. Identify the Account in question and select it to access the Detail View (the one with the subpanels at the bottom)

    2. Click 'Select' within the 'Contacts' subpanel and select the contact you wish to link to multiple accounts.
