Can anyone confirm the following; On the LEADS MODULE
    • The [DO_NOT_CALL] yes/no field and the
    • The [OPT_OUT_PRIMARY_EMAIL] field

When this checkbox is checked or when the data field features an opt out email address, does Sugar mark the lead in a way that will exclude it from being a part of an exported data list?

(i.e. - For a future marketing list, are records that have opted out excluded from exported lists or capable of being excluded due to one of these fields being completed)?

to my knowledge the opt out has nothing to do with exporting a list.

when performing a search to create a export you can use these as filters when building your list.

the opt out feature prevents the email marketing and newsletter features of SugarCRM from sending those email addresses the email. It will suppress them.

    Mr. Gillis:

    Hey, Steeler country!

    Thanks!

In Sugar 6, any lead that features one or the other of these Opt Out fields checked or completed, it should be excluded from any Email marketing and/or Newsletter activity, correct?

And to create a suppression list of only these records, I can simply search for records with these conditions set or filled in, correct?
    • This suppression list could then be exported and uploaded into another master supression system list to manage...correct?

Thanks again for responding so quickly!

    Ben:

I found the passage in the Sugar User's Guide that specifically addresses this issue and confirms exactly what you shared with me.

    • For anyone looking up the same information; look to pages 127-128 of the Sugar Enterprise User's Guide for version 5.2 (our current instance).

    Thanks again!
