A few questions...
Once you have logged in, is fast - or do most of the other clicks cause long waits?
Are you using LDAP authentication?
Is the database on the same machine as the web server?
Thanks
Thanks for reply....
My answers:
1)Everything else works fine.
2)No.
3)Yes.
i also have VMWare running on same system...
OK - I wouldn't have thought it an issue if the database is on the same machine but try this.
Edit the mysql config file and under [mysqld] add the line:
skip-name-resolve
and then restart mysql
Thanks
Thanks a lot Stevec
It worked like a charm.........login time is now 7 secs. approx.
hope everything goes smooth here on...
thanks again....
Cool - but 7 secs still sounds long. Check out the old threads and wiki entries on increasing performance of the web server (compression, caching and accelerating).

Where do I find this mysql config file? My SugarCRM login is extremely slow. After logging in everything is working fine!
Prod: Version 6.1.0 (Build 5389)
Test: Version 6.4.2 (Build 7526)
I'm having an issue with one of my user that the logon times are 20 seconds, for all other users the logon times are less than 2 seconds. For this one user all access within the application is slow as well. We are using an older version of SugarCRM Pro 5.2.0d, PHP 5.2.3, and SQL2005. I have went in as admin and reset her preferences however that doesn't seem to help at all. She used to be fine however there were over 5000 leads assigned to her after a recent import. Aside from any performance tweaks what may be the cause of this one user having these incredibly slow response times and more importantly how to resolve?
Thanks,
Ray
We were having slow login problems even after enabling the cache in MySQL. The issue turned out to be many, many slow queries (5.5 second average for some users) by the sugar feed module. We disabled the activities feed in the admin panel and all logins speeds were greatly increased. We had one user who's login would take over 20 minutes to complete. I discovered the slowness by bringing up a clone of the production box which allowed me to isolate the logs to one user at a time for testing. There did not seem to be a rhyme or reason to the slowness impacting users, but randomly some logins were much slower than others.
Hope this helps somebody else.
