Using Fields from Account module in other modules

I would like to reuse existing database fields in different modules.

e.g I would like to use the field "industry" in the account module and in contacts annd opportunities, but i can not choose the filed in the field layout of contacts, i does not get displayed.

Is there a possibility to reuse existing fields in other modules? How do i perfomr this?

Hi,

If you just want to utilize the drop down values, you can create new(custom) drop down field and use the drop down values. Simple one.

Now, the complex part. If you want to use the value of the field "Industry" of related account for leads and opportunities, you need customization.
