Warning message

I was disconnectedfrom my open source sugar application and the follwoing message came up when I tried to reconnect:
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) in /d1/vkamloops/www/include/database/MysqlManager.php on line 424
Could not connect to server localhost as vkamloops.Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)

Can anyone let me know what may be happening? Thanks

Your server can no longer access the database - you should contact your network people and/or server admin about something like this. Either your database server is offline or the service isn't running.
