Default Questions about the Portal and Sugarcases

    Hi,

Firstly, hats off to the guys who have taken this integration upon themselves. If it works as advertised, it will be a great advance to both Joomla and SugarCRM.

If someone wouldn't mind taking the time to answer a few short questions about the integration, it would be really appreciated:

    1. is it absolutely necessary to MANUALLY create a sugar contact for each new Joomla/mambo user that registers? Can't this contact be created automatically and enabled to work through the portal. If your customer has to wait for a manual action before he can get to the portal, that might not be so great.

    2. Can things be setup so CSR's (customer service reps) cannot see cases assigned to other CSR's?

    3. Can things be setup so a Manager can see all cases?

    4. Is it possible to have the customer, the CSR assigned to the case, and the Manager receive notification on changes made to the case? Is it possible to specify in greater detail who receives notification for what kinds of changes (eg. open, close, modification, state change, file upload, response, etc.)?

    5. Can customers and CSR's respond to cases with file uploads on every response, or only the first time the case is opened?

    6. Can multiple files be uploaded at once to a case?

    7. Can the fields of the self-service portal be configured? (ie. what to show, what not to show)?

    8. Can custom fields be added? Can they be searched on ?

Thanks very much (hope I haven't stretched people's patience with so many questions...)

    I need this functionality too.
It would take me a while to dig through all the code to figure it out, but essentially it needs a PHP Mail command whenever a case is edited or changed.

I added this kind of fuctionality when a new lead comes in from my website form, and even managed to get a clickable link in the email that the recipient can click on to take them directly to that record...

but my PHP skills are probably too rudimentary to do this, anyone else care to take a crack at it?
