    Default Sugar 4 and Mambo/Joomla

    Hi,

Has anyone got Sugar 4 working with Mambo/Joomla yet?

Is there a guide on what needs to be done if so?

I do not believe so. We are working with clients to build a solution with Joomla 1.1 - which should be a more generic solution than the current Mambo solution. We are looking for other companies interested in contributing to this effort financially. The result will be open sourced.

Unhappy Re: Sugar 4 and Mambo/Joomla

    Hi,

I'm trying to connect Sugar to mambo or Joomla. I can create a case in M/J and it appears in sugar. I can even ammend it on sugar, hit refresh, and it shows in M/J. However, if I do a search it gives an error (attached. I can create bugs too, which appear in sugar, but can't be seen from M/J. Does anyone else have this, or have it working at all?

Has there been another issue with this workaround?
I have changed this line as well as the corresponding line in sugarCases.php...to no avail!
I still get the connection error.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi all,

I recommend you to follow exactly each step as written in the manual of the mambo/joomla integration. I tried twice and after some bugy experience with the normal delivered compononents i run a third installation which runs perfectly but i using some modified components of the sugar registration comp.

    1. Setup in the Sugar Instance your Portal only User with password. No Emailadress is required.
    2. Make sure Portal is active under System Settings in Sugar Admin
    3. Install first and just the sugar registration component in Joomla (or Mambo)
    4. Config the Component & Safe bevor Step 5 (Please remember to follow each step as the attached manual and start as written above. Don't forget to change the "application name" by the config settings of the registar components to " Joomla"
enter the portal only user name and password, safe.)

    5. Upload the modified case-component, edit config and safe

You can found this modified component, which has to be installed as the second one, after a complete installation & configuration of the "registration-component".

Modified by Reinier Battenber as Initial modifier and second, clean and add some functionality by Alex Loveday
    http://www.abltec.co.uk/downloads/com_sugarcases.zip

    6. Go on with further components, each one configured before the next will be uploading
    7. Link as written in the manual your favorite way to the component.

Each new registered User in Joomla Portal will be imported as LEAD into Sugar 4.2GA. After converting to a CONTACT, fill in the portal user name of the registered User, activate Portal.

Now all Cases (Support Cases), Bugs work bidirectlonal with the sugar and joomla including notes and attachements

    Enjoy !!!!!!!!

Many thanks to Reinier & Alex

Note for Chris: You should read the thread on sugarforge
    http://sugarforge.org/forum/message.php?msg_id=1474

And i would really apreachate if documents in sugar can be associated to Leads or Contacts or Accounts, Each Account Should get a Folder in Sugar Documents as NaviTree in the Sidepanel, each Contact in this Account has an Folderish Alias of all his refered documents. Those documents should be managed by the contactperson as well in a Joomla or Mamboportal over the function in the documents"display on portal" as nearly zuckerdocs it does...

I get this and the bugs components perfectly and stable with Joomla 1.07 and Sugar 4.2 GA. Just step by step.

    best's

Ignore the post below, installing the fixes from Alex Loveday solved everything, now works very nicely!
    _________________________

Everything seemed to install OK but and I can register a test user, and create a test case in my Joomla site...

But, after saving the case it never appears in Sugar.
I've checked the usernames and passwords for the portal user but nothing changes.

Anything in particular that I should be looking for?

As a side note, the CASE #'s did start with the correct #, for example I already had 5 cases in Sugar, and when I created a new one in Joomla, it started with CASE #6. If I created a new case directly in Sugar, it also start with the correct #.

Does it have anything to do with Contacts vs. Accounts?
Creating a new case in Sugar requires an Account, but Joomla seems to associate a new case with a Contact...

    Thanks!

    cool!

We work on a process to handle the whole knowlegde management (documents) similar to the other Joomla Components, Its not easy but once we have a solution we will serve to the forum as well.
    with best regards,
