Advanced Project Descriptions

As a project manager I've noticed when entering in descriptions for each project task that I have to be the resource the task is assigned to or I do not have access to the description box. Is there any way to set up Advanced Project 4.5.1 so that I do not have to be the resource assigned to the task and still have access to the description area?

Anyone have any idea how high a priority it is for the development team to improve the advanced projects module?
