PM HELP! Create a Project Task

Hello All:

As a new demand user of Sugar we are testing the Project Management functions as they are vital to our company.

According to the User Guide to create a new PROJECT TASK we are to select "create new project task" from the shortcuts menu.

The problem is that shortcut is not available in our shortcuts.

With the manual being so new I'm relectant to assume it's been programmed out of the system.

Can anyone shed some light on this...we have spent hours trying to figure this out.

Are you using the shortcut menu on the Projects tab or on the Home tab? The Create Project Task option appears on the Projects tab shortcut menu. You have to have created at least one Project before you can create a task, as the Project name is a required field of the Project Task. You can also create a Project Task from within a Project (from the Detail View) by using the Create button on the Project Tasks subpanel.

Thanks for the reply...we still have no "create project task" icon or command displaying anywhere and we've double and triple checked our ownership etc.

Attached is a screen shot...maybe someone can shed some light on this...

I have the same issue. Your not crazy Rocketmatt. I am using the online trial version.

You are looking at the advanced project management module. It is different from the original project module. I believe you have to create a project, and then you use an icon to insert a row. Take a look here: http://www.sugarcrm.com/docs/User_Gu...8.html#1261375

That was it. Its not very clear at first but I was able to create a project task from the gantt view by inserting a row as advised by crmtamer. Thank you.

Hello

please tell me if this solutions is for Sugar Community Edition version 5.1a also.

My problem is that in the Project Panel I don't see any panel (no Project Task, no Project Resource, nothing).
I look everywhere and i don't see from where i can input the "project tasks"
