Project task templates.

I've been searching the forums a while now and can't seem to find anything yet it seems like a popular request.

All our projects have a common set of tasks. When we start a new project I want to be able to import our standard tasks. .

How do we do this?

I was trying to figure the same thing out, and finally did. I set up project templates, with standard activities/tasks, etc. i named it as a 'template' file, and now when I create a new project I open up the template and hit the duplicate button. It's worked for me. I wish the project portion had a gannt chart capability though.

You can create a project, call it template, and just duplicate it each time you want to add a new Project with similar tasks

So maybe I'm just a complete bone head, but lets say I add a new account onto sugar and now I need to add the project. How do I duplicate the "template" to the new account with the new project? Sorry, I'm really new to this product and having a tough time doing what I want with it. Your help would be wonderful.

Hi folks!

I am have been tasked with implementing my companys' project delivery plan based on our quality process. We have an experienced LAMP development team (of which I am a member) and we have started using v5.0 of SugarCRM Community edition and we are impressed so far with this app.

The lack of doccumentation or information about version 5.0 (and modules or extensions) is disconcerting although I understand it is very new.

We need to implement a project template with tasks and subtasks assignable to users and filterable. Some of this functionality exists. My question is should I customise the existing projects/tasks modules or build a new module/package completely?

Any help much appreciated.

I am currently plodding through the documentation on module building and V5.0 MVC without much joy.

Did you check out Kbrill's Dup_Project module? It works up to SugarCRM version 4.7, but haven't tried it yet since we're on 5.0. Hoping he will upgrade it soon.
