We are looking for your top 5 order management feature requests.

For me it would be something like this:
1. Optoin to track serial numbers & vendors (for warranty and support issures)
2. Quote a systemprice, but within the order break it up (automatically is best) into the single items; this could be linked to the Project Module...
3. Create PO's out of a item list
4. Taking care of the warehouse
5. Have statistics and products linked to customers. So you can email them, if for instance, a softwareupdate is available and you want to offer your customer this update via mailing.
It would also make sense incorporating a ecommerce system. I am using currently oscommerce, but to install contribs, is really pain. Perhaps, as you anyway create a Mambo component, it might be a good idea looking into phpshop, so you only need one database?
Unfortunately, there is much more into it; but to really know, what other features are needed, i'd have to work with the Pro version for a while to figure out.![]()

1. Integrate Multiple Sales Channels (Call Center, E-Commerce, eBay, etc).
2. Integrate with Shipping System (UPS Worldship, FedEx, USPS, etc).
3. Drop ship items / automatically create PO and send to vendor.
4. Ability to track all contact with customers.
5. Ability to track quotes.
Obviously, it would also have to do all of the expected functions of an order management product.
1) simple configurator: inclusion and exclusion
2) modify products to support assemblies or build them in order with configuration
3) push orders, campaign orders, order templates to a list of accounts (with x-y grid view of products and accounts)
4) batch order release, with PO push and vendor drop ship
5) quote-to-order, order replication (like duplicate button)
6) links to campaigns, promotions, offers, lead source (couldn't do it in 5!![]()
Great feedback – thank you. Order Management is not going to make 3.0 but the 1.0 module should ship with 3.5, mid-summer. Please keep the requirements coming.

1. Integration with major Shopping carts..Mambo PHP-SHop
2. Generate sales order for customer to confirm
3. good pricebreak feature, that is fully customised by percentage or value per break point. Dropping either from original or last break point.

Just dawned on me, what is the point of this module if there is no products module in existence?

Add to Juergen's item #1- Option to track license key associated to a product purchased on a particular order or date/time.Originally Posted by bogey63
Also, new item - to link start date and duration for product support agreements from the order or license activation. For example, if I purchased SugarPro on 6Apr05, then activated a license key on 25Apr06, could the order manager create the appropriate service contract term. I suspect the term in SugarPro's case starts from the date of purchase, but other companies may want the flexibility to start from license activation or from a scheduled installation date by a pro services install team.
New feature request - tracking support contracts based on payment terms from the order. It would be very useful to be able to track an order for a support contract, particularly when it comes time for renewals. That way, the sales team could see what the terms are of service contracts, and what the renewal dates are. The revenue forecast could reflect the service contract payment terms (year in advance, monthly, quarterly, etc.) That wraps several feature requests into one, but you get the idea. Perhaps SugarCRM as a company will see the value in this around July/Aug of 05![]()
Our company needs ability to:
1) track serial number & vendor
2) track warranty period and type ( parts / labour, labour only)
3) ability to email quotes and orders (linked to contact / account / case)
4) ability to convert a quote into an order
5) user defined fields (which are different for different items
- field to store customer's po number for this order
- ability to add / remove items and change item quantities from original quote
We have a product that takes a full letter size piece of paper to fully document.
A few user defined textfields and one textarea would suffice I think.

Hi,
I am just about to start with SugarCRM and I am impressed how easy it is to use. I would love to have an order management so here are my wishes:
1. Handle mulit-tier business, e.g. distributor-reseller-customer
2. Ability to handle maintenance and other recurring contracts, including some reminder service when its time to send a next bill
3. Allow tracking of milestones
