    Default Shipping weight calculation

Shipping must be calculated as volumetric wight.

    L x W x H / 6000

if this is greater than the phisical weight shipping companies use the volumentric weight.

This is very important, for future integration with a shop and or shipping system like DHL or UPS

Consider using PHPshop's db structure for products so that you get integration to ecommerce
Install phpshop on a mambo site and take a look at the product db structure that it creates.

Also consider to study the structure of OS Commerce http://www.oscommerce.com. Check out that most of the things mentioned here are already placed in there !

We are using OSCommerce (OSCMax) and Mambo. I am hoping that MOSCommerce or other Mambo/OSC integration matures.

As for integrating Sugar with a shopping cart, my thought was that Sugar only seems to know about PRODUCTS, not ORDERS, which would be more useful. There seems to be a table missing in the database. I was thinking, as a workaround, of importing my Orders from OSCommerce as Products, just to give me something to link to if I wanted to drill down, and leaving the bulk of the data in OSCommerce, where it 'belongs'. I was hoping that having the Orders in Sugar would allow me to build groups like Bronze, Silver, Gold, based on the total value of the Orders, and email/contact accordingly.

Anyway, if anyone works on Sugar/Cart integration, my two cents is that MamboPHPShop is managed by one guy who seems overworked, whereas OSCommerce and variants seem to be much more widely supported.

    Thanks for the interesting dialog.
