Just wanted to inform that Finnish language pack for Sugar 4.5 will be released early next week.

Updateted version of Finnish lang pack for Sugar 4.5 is available here:

New version (dated 28.9.2006) which does not not include language file (\install\language\fi_fi_lang.php) used by Setup Wizard.

This is to prevent errors during language pack installation if folder \install\language is not writable. We'll release separate instructions how to enable and use SetUp Wizard in Finnish.

I hope that you will not mind if I ask you the following question - even if it is outside the topic - or at least direct me somewhere, where I can find an answer

I am trying to find out what is the scope of Sugar 4.5 localisation (how many words of software and help are to be translated, what other tasks need to be done)

I was looking for this info (including contacting Sugar) but did not get an answer yet.

Hi sladkor,

No, I don't mind at all. SugarCRM Open Source 4.5 has around 5302 lines in 68 files which translates to 16421 words and 91152 characters. Sugar Pro has quite a bit more to translate.

Sugar 4.5 OS has around 100 help files, and translating them will be major work.

One of the challenges is to keep your translation consistent as same commands are duplicated across various modules. So I’d suggest you to build your SugarCRM vocabulary as it will be useful for your colleagues as well.

If you are translating 4.5 files, you have to use editor which can handle UTF-8 character set (like Notepad ++). If you are updating language pack, you will find Julian's language pack sync tool valuable:
