New translation problem - Blank page

I am running version 6.0.2CE and I have started translating to Greek.
So far, I have been to Studio etc, to translate any fields to Greek, and the result is working just fine.

But now I want to translate other things like the messages etc, so I copied en_us.lang.php to el_gr.lang.php for each module I wanted to translate. I translate the strings, and then I logout and login again to test it. Then I get a blank page, even in Admin, which I have not translated!

looks like the problem is solved when I remove the el_gr.lang.php file from the modules...

Am I doing something wrong?

Blank page means php error.

Do you have access to web server error log file?
Find out the error log file, try again and let us know the last lines of such log file.

Perhaps it is a charset issue.

Maybe it's because I first translated from within studio???

Sugar log does not help at all.

But as per these weird errors I suspect it is due charset.

I'll get the Apache log file and post the last lines here....

Charset? I have used UTF-8 for the new lang.php files....

One more thing that might help...I added a module (through module loader) but did not use studio to translate any fields.
So I erases any modules/<module>/language/el_gr.lang.php files from other modules ( I have used Studio to translate some of their fields) but the one of the module I installed (I also created the file with UTF-8). translated the strings, cleared the cache and...voila! Everything in Greek! No problem....!

If the problem is the translation I have already done through Studio, will erasing all el_gr.lang.php files get me to square one? Where I can start fresh, and translate only the language files, and not Using Studio?
