Default User Guide as DocBook XML

Couple of weeks ago I started leisurely translating SugarCRM CE User Guide info Russian for my customer. From the beginning I felt by intuition that there would be a better way to do such work then just typing in OpenOffice. Lately Lord heard me praying and now I am switching to DocBook XML. But I faced with another small hell switching between my existent OpenOffice document to copy text, Sugar User Guide opened in browser to see the correct document structure and putting tags in XML editor.

I thought how great it would be to have an original English User Guide in DocBook format to make a translation only for text elements not paying much attention (and time of course!) to XML tags, document structure and so on. Moreover my intuition told me again that User Guide made with DocBook.

Is it possible to get User Guide in DocBook XML?

Funny you should ask this as I brought up a similar question during the Dev conf in February. My intention is to translate it for the Spanish speaking community.

As I understood it, SugarCRM (company) uses FrameMaker to make the guides, which is not unexpected really. Anyway, sources are not available, but perhaps in the future something will be available for us to easily translate.

Thanks, Angel, for your reply. This cleared the situation perfectly. I think that User Guide source availability could dramatically increase Sugar spreading rate. For example, I'm not a bad lecturer and my audience were satisfied enough with my explanations of Sugar. But they all asked me for a written manual and were disappointed on hearing that it will take a time for me to develop it. DocBook I think will help community to translate User Guide (as well as Developer one) in a days.

May be SugarCRM officials could tell something interesting about it.
