Hi,
I was just at a marketing conference and was pitched by a number of vendors all claiming to be light years ahead of open source alternatives. I find that hard to believe and that's why i'm posting here.
The area of focus they are in is marketing automation and some of the vendors i am talking about are : Marketo, Epiphany, Sitecore, Eloqua, Loopfuse, Silverpop, etc.
The features i found most exciting are:
1. Lead scoring. Send only sales ready leads over to sales. Assign points based on different actions and goals and browsing/sales metrics.
2. Profile visitors at an individual level not just aggregate like google analytics. track their behavior and when they do reach a goal and give us details, all previous data on that anonymous user is merged with their new lead identity.
3. Setup automated triggers to included them into campaigns (e.g nurturing) based on behaviors.
4. Multivariate and a/b split testing for email. Choose a subset of the population (randomize feature) while making sure not to include key accounts, prospects, etc -> and then start email testing on them.
5. Integrate with 3rd party data aggregators to help profile and segment anonymous visitors based on their dedicated IP addresses (quite useful in b2b prospecting)
So is there a an addon, or company filling in this space for sugar?
Thanks!
