Changing default calendar view in Home Page

Currently it appears that the calendar view displayed on the home page is not the calendar for a specific user but rather just a blank month view calendar. Yes, it is true that if you click on a given date you will be taken to the currently logged in user's calendar. I would prefer that the user's calendar with the current day's view including any appointments be shown on the Home Page rather than the month view without any appointments on it. Is there a way to do this without tweaking the code? If so, please let me know where this can be configured. If not, if anyone has an idea where to start digging through the code to make this change I would appreciate the insight.

Hello Steve,

I must say that the way it is now, worksfine for me. First I get informed via the list "My upcoming appointments" And when I want a calendar overview I click on the month of the calendar. Then the calendar expands (it opens the calendar module) with an overview of all the appointments in that month. But a color in the squares with an appointment would be nice.

To make us three in this post:

I think the caldenar on the homepage is ok, i am more concerned about private appointments, about the ability to view users calendar, about group calendars. If SugarCRM does not plan to extend the calendar on the homepage, i would suggest to shrink it, since it is quite large :-)

Like hiding some views from home page.
Now I comment some lines of codes to do it.
