Arrow clicking an email in lead search result view does not launch email application right

I do a search for all captains in LEADS: Then from that look up list I want to click on an email to immediately see the email in the to field in outlook.
But it remains empty. When I do the same thing in CONTACTS, captains then it does work.

It would be nice to send from the leads also directly in outlook.

I tested this out in 5.2 and this is definitely a bug.
