Embedded picturs in emails

hello,

modern email clients like outlook offer the possibility to embedd pictures directly in the email (and not linking to public stored e.g. png files).

currently that is not supported by the sugarcrm email client.

there are commercial solutions in place (http://shop.intelestream.net/categor...tware-Patches/), but i think that should be a free feature, specially helpful for email campaigns.

Hi Stephan,

SugarCRM already supports picture embedding - at least within email templates for mailing campaigns.

When in the template editor for an email campaign, first attach the image. Once the image has finished uploading, another button will appear next to the attachment icon marked "embed".

Place the cursor within the email at the point you wish to embed the image and click the "embed" button and the image will be properly embedded.

This is entirely different to the normal linked image feature.

hello,

using hat new feature i relalized the following issues:

tryiing to upload a "png" image in order to embedd this, is not working.
it looks, that the png images are stored in a different upload folder (cache\images) but the other (e.g.jpg) are stored in cache\upload.

that is a serious issue.

the other finding i ve: only during the initial upload you can embedd. an already embedded picture cannot be embedded a second time (somewhere else) without reuploading it. (or during the first upload to embedd it at 2 places).
the "embedd" button is only available during the very first upload.

or do i do something wrong?
