The SugarCRM product can become even better if the email campaign recipient "Viewed Message" count is incremented via tracked link OR the 1x1 image.

Currently only the 1x1 image is used although this doesn't assist in counting "views" if the user decides not to load images, nor can it count opens for a text email campaign.

Implementing this would make SugarCRM accurate at counting Opens/Views for an email campaign AND also address the Opens/Views metric for text only emails.

On a side note email marketing industry calls this metric "Opens".

Also in the world of sysadmin and SpamAssassin spam filtering using a 1x1 image scores spam points as a "HTML_WEB_BUGS". Make the image 3x100 and transparent with no border to avoid this easily seen scoring trigger.
