Finding Duplicates (automatically)

Hey all,
When my customers are signing up on my site through a certain campaign, they can create as many duplicates record as they want..

I'm trying to find a solution for that.

My ideas are:
- A warning on 'view lead details' that the same name, email or phone number exist on another record.
- Or a button that will allow me to search for duplicates in all records.

Any thoughts?

Yes! Awesome idea. I started building a new dashlet that will auto find dups in two modes; strict and loose. Strict will be on exact field matches where loose will be based on something like a soundex. These should be definable by the user. It'll let you ignore matches for future checks as well.

I've had to stop for a period of time while I catch up on some other issues but plan on finishing this out. However, it would be great if this was somehow included in Sugar as I see data integrity issues causing many problems in many implementations.

I see that this thread is 3 years old but I don't see that this has been addressed since. Are there any new developments with automatically finding duplicates? We had a little over 1,500 leads in our system and recently imported over 30,000 more. I would like to see if there are any duplicates but don't feel like going through the entire 30 thousand plus leads to check.

Is there a way to automatically check for duplicate leads?

We are working with a company called ActivePrime that has a product called CleanCRM that finds and merges duplicate records. They should have the integration with SugarCRM done within the next couple months. This will be what you are looking for.
