Lightbulb Gmail Archive Integration Through Chrome or FireFox

This is a plead to the development team to support a plugin that functions to integrate archiving from the Gmail webmail to SugarCRM.

The plugin Dolcemail is no longer functioning. I have also found that the integration of Gmail as a client email system within the SugarCRM instance to be weak or cumbersome. For the day-to-day user in an organization, they will not tolerate the current implementation -- at least ours will not.

Presumably any plugin implementation would be browser specific. While the current DolceMail implementation is on FireFox, it would seem that a shift to Chrome would be prudent given that one would anticipate easier backdoors to the fuctionality of Google Apps. This would facilitate deeper integration to calendar, contacts and docs.

It is surprising the emphasis of tool development on the Outlook platform as our firm has been moving away from this as fast as we can given that it is not a multi-platform solution (Mac, PC etc.).

Can we pass the hat around for this?

I totally agree. We already use the browser for access to Sugar... it makes sense to use the browser for email especially for a Google Aps account.
We are trying to get rid of Outlook and not install Thunderbird.
Maybe we can organize a collection or group purchase?

I'll be willing to throw in US $50 per month for a minimum of 12 months of support. (US $600 per year)

I will say that Fireox is the best browser for us since we do have some minor modifications to our SugarCE that do not seem to work well in Chrome.

I would pay for easy use of gmail with sugar no doubt. I just can't understand that no one decided to make money solving this issue.

Looks like the version 6.0 of SugarCRM will not provide integration to Gmail or within Google Apps. I am growing tired of waiting, and observing that the Google Apps Store is beginning to have numerous CRM offerings that have opted to provide integration into the Google Apps. I am utterly dumbfounded how the SugarCRM fails to offer any integration pathway beyond having a PC and running Outlook. All Firefox, Thunderbird and browser integration projects are dead.

For example BatchBooks looks like a promising approach.

Here is another approach that could make this easier - Rapportive.

In theory the problem of maintaining the backend connection to gmail is given to Rapportive to handle. Then their API permits making a connector to SugarCRM for archiving email.

I like their tool, and it seems to be a reasonable place where you would find a archive to SugarCRM for those of use who are moving from PCs and Outlook.

Should one set up a project?

    This is a terrible plugin......
What needs to be done in order to get Gmail integration. Is there no one who has done this - with so many requests surely DolceMail could get back up and running?

I tried to install sweetness but before committing the setup Chrome warns me that the extension wants to access all my web sites data and my navigation history. Is it safe to proceed? Will someone read my personal data?
