How to block email contacts to certain users?

Hello, I am setting up my Sugar CRM open source and while I was making some tests to see if the email feature was working correctly, I found out that even though I made all the proper restrictions to certain users, the can still have access to the full contact list. So my question or request is, is there anyway to solve my problem?

You'll need to defined what you mean by " I made all the proper restrictions to certain users."

Using roles would allow you to limit who can see certain records and I am unaware of any bugs that would keep that feature from working correctly.

Sorry I was not clear before, what I meant with all the proper restrictios was that I have actually made the role configuration and they have restrictions to contacts viewing, the user can only see contact information for their own assigned contacts, and this does work just fine inside the contacts tab. Nevertheless when serching for an Email adreess in the adress book, on the Email tab, it will display every contact that has an E-mail in the database despite the contacts are not assigned to the user. So I do believe this is a bug.

Kind of sounds like it. I can't think of a reason why one should be allowed to e-mail a contact one can't access.

I had the same and currently, Jason Eagger had restricted this in his latest SecuritySuite for CE users.

This issue has been fixed in 5.5 beta1: http://www.sugarforge.org/frs/downlo...5.5.0beta1.zip. The fix is automatically carried to subsequent 5.5 releases, stay tuned for the next one: 5.5 beta2 coming out next week.
