seems the "Email Setup for Campaigns" cannot automatically reuse the smtp account i already set up in the email section. that would be helpful..

Not really.
I did that by patching some fields in the database and got a not working bouncing mailbox.
(At the moment) opening a mail account in the mail module will desturb the bounce handling.
