Status.net features added to Actvity stream

Status.net
We are fanatic users of Status.net microblogging tools. We run a seperate install besite our SugarCRM install. With the StatusUpdate feature of Sugar you have the same basic possibilities as with status.net.

From status to sugar
Because we can add up to 50 cases and opportunities in a day, these updates get "lost" so I have two dashlets. One for cases and opportunities and one for User Feeds.

Where status is better
Internal microbloggin is very powerfull tool you all should start using. What status does better is:
* you can connect 3th party microblogging tools to it (android, iPhone iPad clients)
* You can add events, polls and questions

These make Status.net extra powerfull and these features would be a welcome add for Sugar. It the API of Sugar is equal to the Status.net API 3th party tools would be easy to integrate.

Team updates
For larger organisations you might want Users in Teams, and be able to create separate updates for certain teams.

Fieldsize
Finally, the current field input size is limiting (both in actual size and number of chars you can input). An update here would be usefull.

Search
A very strong feature of Twitter en Status is search. "A read something about that earlier" questions are answered.

To sum it up
* Larger StatusUpdate field (in textarea instead of field, and more chars possible)
