Thread: Web Portal / Partner portal

Default Web Portal / Partner portal

It would be nice to have broader web portal for contacts. The currect access level is too small. Imagine a company with 5000 employees. It would be millions of dollars to pay for subscriptions. Instead it should be free just by using a more powerful web portal.

There is something similar in salesforce.com They call it partner Portal. Hope surag would add something like this and it would make sugarCRM unbeatable.

Using the REST/SOAP web service API of SugarCRM makes it easy to implement a web portal. This works with all SugarCRM editions.

    Hi rayimmi

Lampada Global developed such functionality, it is the Lampada Portal, available on SugarForge.

    Hi Ray,

you could have a look into the developer guide, especially chapter "web services" (Application Framework - SugarCRM Support Site).

    Other documentation/examples:
    Being RESTful with SugarCRM
SugarCRM SOAP Examples | Dean Haddock
SugarCRM SOAP Examples Pt. 2: Queries and Google Charts | Dean Haddock
SugarCRM SOAP Examples Pt. 3: Upload a File via SOAP API | Dean Haddock

    Blog posts:
SugarCRM Developer Blog » Web Services

There are many examples available, e.g. in forum. Just google, e.g. for "Sugarcrm REST" or Sugarcrm SOAP" or "Sugarcrm web service" or search for special web service functions if you're searching for examples using that method.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards
    Stefan

    Hi Andre

Thanks for your attention. I have these few questions.

    1) Are these products upgrade safe?
    2) Are these products compatible with Sugar 6.6?
    3) I could not install the partner portal. There was a warning which says Warning: dir(cache/upgrades/temp/CINy5G/icons) [function.dir]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /home/msa/domains/eduaus.com.au/public_html/include/dir_inc.php on line 44
    Failed to copy cache/upgrades/temp/CINy5G/icons custom/themes.

    Hi Stefan

Thanks for your time. But I am not a programmer. So I do not understand much of it.

Hey Rayimmi - did you ever find a solution? I am looking for some portal customization too and Lampada would have been the perfect product, but it would work with 6.6 for me either.
