Is anyone out there using Zucker reports with multi byte languages, like Japanese?

I have a standard installation (no japanese language pack) of 4.5.1d which is inputting and displaying Japanese text correctly throughout. However the results from Zucker reports are encoded incorrectly and come out garbled when shown directly on screen as HTML. CSV reports are fine once saved to disk and opened in the correct application.

I figure that this is purely a Zucker problem as I am not having difficulty with Japanese anywhere else.

Would love to hear if any of you guys have had this issue and how it was resolved if you managed to.
