Default can't access new custom modules

I have created a new module using module builder, If I login as admin, then I can access the new module without problem. However, if I login as regular user, when I click new module tab, I got message "You do not have access to this area. Contact your site administrator to obtain access.". If I go to role managment, I don't see that new module which I can set up access, edit etc permission. So how to fix this problem?

    SugarCRM 5.0 open source.

    1. Make sure your module is not in "Hidden tabs" at Admin -> Configure Tabs
    2. if #1 doesnt help, try Admin -> Repair -> Quick Repair and Rebuild

    I had the same problem.

For me Admin >> Repair >> Repair Roles worked.

    Hello Drego,

As far as i could figure out your problem, it is saying "You do not have access to this area. Contact your site administrator to obtain access." for normal user.

If yes, please check table named acl_actions, search for your custom module in field "category", If it doesnt exists you have to enter 8 entries in that table for your custom module.

Then relogin with that normal user.

Thumbs up Re: can't access new custom modules

Strangely after doing the 2 steps I mentioned, clearing various caches and re logging in I could see the modules in the "Role management" and I explicitly gave permissions. That worked!
