Changing Search Field in Relationships/Module

We are in the processing of rolling out SugarCRM CE, and I've got a whole load of questions about customisation... so here's the first one...

When assigning an Account to another Module, e.g. when assigning a case to an account, it it by default using the firstname/lastname fields. Is it possible to change this to another field e.g. Company or UserId (which are our own custom fields)?

Relationships between objects use internal ids (uuids) that are not visible on screen.

If your question is how to change the views to see other fields you could go to admin->Studio. This tool gives you the ability to change the views (list view, detail view, edit view, ...), especially remove and add fields.

I've already done loads in the Studio .... but it's not actually the view i want to change.... I'll try and explain a little better!

If I've got a Case, and I want to assign a Customer to it, current if I start typing in the Account box, it searches and comes back based on Firstname/Lastname - I'd like it to search and come back on another field, if possible!

I think you mix something together ... If I'm in case module and select an account I get account name etc. as search fields. If I select a contact I get first name, last name, etc.
These views are defined in Studio in
Accounts->Layouts->Popup View->Popup Search
Contacts->Layouts->Popup View->Popup Search
