coding within iframe - new developer

Hi,
Can someone please answer a simple high level question before I waste too much time?
My organization has started using Sugar CRM. We want to make some internal company information available like YTD sales summary by salesrep/month. Simple stuff at first.
Here's the problem...I'm told in Sugar you plug in custom stuff in an iframe(I've used them internally). I'm told we don't want to host a public facing website internally and that a service provider we work with for EDI and SOA/SAS services doesn't do web page hosting but can provide a URL that through web services will return an HTML string of the data to be displayed.

The problem is an iframe shows the html code not the actual page rendering.

So to make a long story short...What options do I have in Sugar development to write some code and control what gets displayed in an iframe or some other wbe page part?

You can create inside the iFrame a view which fetch data from server outside SugarCRM.
