Create SugarCRM entities from external Java application

HI,

I'm new to SugarCRM comeing from a Java perspective. I would like to get some advice, what is the easiest way to create a Sugar entity like a "Contact" from an external Java application.

Right now I have data like for- & surname, email,... in our Javabased application. When there is new contact information (only new never update) it would be great to have a cotact entity in Sugar created automatic. But how? Direct insert in the database? Webservice?

i have writtten some Java code to migrate our contacts from OpengroupWare to SugarCRM - this makes heavy use of the SOAP API to create accounts and contacts in SugarCRM

For those of you who haven't used Java and SOAP together, I would recommend using Apache Axis. There's a very nice function in there that will convert all your SOAP commands and data structures into corresponding Java functions and data. Once you get it up and running, you're essentially just calling Java commands. Can be found here http://ws.apache.org/axis/java/user-...aTypesFromWSDL.
