Creating a new Module (with subpanel) to have a notes

Hi,

I'm trying to figure the following out. I'd like a to have a License sub-panel in the accounts section. This subpanel will contain notes relation only to that account.

I've created a new module (using module builder), created a relationship between License and notes (one to many) and then between License and Accounts (many to one).

I now have the subpanel appearing with a notes like function. I now have two problems;

Firstly when i go to create a new note, i have to tell it which account.

Secondly, when i've created a note i can see it in all accounts.

Any help would be appreciated!

Each account will have a sub-panel called Licenses, this sub-panel will have a list of notes for only that account.

Looks like you have a good start. With issue #2 if it is showing notes from other accounts make sure the custom subpanel function you have in Accounts is filtering on the account. If you're still having issues there please post the SQL you are using for that.

For issue #1 you'll need to send over the default value by creating your own subpanel create widget. Found an old post of mine that should help you get on your way. http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/f6/pa...-create-43774/

All of the things i've done so far have been using the front end, i.e i haven't edited any source files. With issue #1 i presume you can only do this with editing the source. which i'm fine with, it's just getting my head around what's stored where.
